Research Focus

The main objective of our research is to understand the physics of elementary particles and their fundamental interactions. We are specially interested in addressing the Beyond Standard Model (BSM) issues such as the gauge hierarchy problem, flavour puzzle, neutrino mass, matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe, etc. Our efforts lies in constructing BSM theories utilizing concepts of new symmetries and/or extension of spacetime and analyzing them in order to check their viability in explaining the experimental observations. We are also involved in exploring the phenomenology of new theories and models and in deriving their potential signatures at experiments like the LHC. In the coming 2-3 years, our main focus will be on understanding the new experimental results from the LHC and to interpret them in the context of BSM theories, to address the flavour puzzle in theories with higher dimensional spacetime, to understand leptonic mixing pattern and CP violation through discrete and continuous flavour symmetries and to explore the consequences of quark-lepton unification in the grand unified theories.
