Abstract: Nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) based on low-dimensional materials have garneredsignificant attention due to their unique mechanical, electrical, and optical properties, offeringpromising avenues for exploring fundamental physics and next-generation applications innanotechnology. We will explore the recent advancements and challenges in the field of low-dimensional material NEMS, focusing on two-dimensional (2D) materials such as graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). We will discuss the fundamental principles governingthe mechanical behavior of low-dimensional NEMS, including their exceptional mechanicalstrength, flexibility, and tunability. Moreover, we delve into the integration of low-dimensionalmaterials into NEMS devices, highlighting their compatibility with existing fabricationtechniques and potential for scalable manufacturing. Furthermore, we examine themultidisciplinary range of applications: including ultra-sensitive sensors, high-frequencyresonators, and novel devices to study fundamental physics such as transport in mesoscopicscale. Finally, we address the current challenges and prospects of low-dimensional materialNEMS, including the need for precise control over material synthesis, device integration, andreliability enhancement strategies. Overall, insights into the promising field of low-dimensionalmaterial NEMS and its versatile potential to study physics and its applications will be presented.\n\nMeeting ID: 934 8573 5053\nPasscode: 361603\n
