The Office of the Dean of Research and Development (R&D) is dedicated to nurturing a robust research landscape within the institute. Committed to advancing R&D activities and fostering innovation, the office deals with various activities such as:

R&D Infrastructure Planning & Management: The office is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and maintenance of research infrastructure, ensuring state-of-the-art facilities that meet the evolving needs of researchers.

Project Grant Management and Review: Overseeing the lifecycle of research projects, the office manages the acquisition of funding, monitors project progress, and ensures compliance with grant requirements, facilitating successful project execution.

Project Staff & Project PDF Recruitment: The office handles the recruitment of skilled research personnel and Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDFs), ensuring that projects are supported by top-tier talent.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Supporting researchers in protecting their innovations through filling and managing patents.

Technology Business Incubation (TBI): TBI, IISER Mohali, nurtures startups and entrepreneurs by providing the resources, guidance, and platforms to develop and showcase the technologies that are needed to transform innovative ideas into

successful businesses. More than 35 Startups have been incubated in the last years through the TBI, IISER Mohali.

Research and Academic Collaborations: Enabling interdisciplinary research and academic collaborations at national and international levels.

Annual Report: The office compiles and presents the annual report, showcasing research and academic activities, ongoing projects, achievements, and future plans, which is essential for transparency and strategic planning.

Central Analytical Facilities: Managing central analytical facilities equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and expertise, the office supports researchers in conducting cutting-edge analyses and experiments.

Additionally, the office administers fellowships/scholarships and various other activities to support academic and scientific pursuits, fostering an environment where research and innovation can thrive.
