Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) of IISER Mohali is conducting a walk-in interview for PhD admission in January 2025 session.
Date: 4th January, 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 9:30 AM onwards (Reporting time: 9:00 AM)
Venue: IISER Mohali (in-person/offline mode only)
Eligibility/ criterion:
i) Applicants should have an M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Phil / B.Arch / M.Arch degree (minimum 55% for General and OBC category, minimum 50% for SC/ST/PD.) in one or more of the following subject areas: Modern Indian History / Archaeology or its sub-disciplines / Anthropology / Ancient Indian History / Ancient History.
ii) Applicants should have a valid national-level qualifying exam such as GATE, UGC (NET/JRF/LS) etc.
iii) Candidates from SC/ST background and women who do not have external fellowships are encouraged to apply: total number of vacancies on institute fellowship is 3 (1 in Archaeology or its sub-disciplines, e.g. Anthropology, Ancient Indian History, Ancient History and 2 in Modern Indian History).
iv) Apart from the walk-in interview, an applicant must send a SoP (statement of proposed research) (minimum 1500 words) to the following email address by December 31, 2024:
(v) Candidate must bring their original examination qualifying certificates, award letter, Date of Birth certificate, Government recognized photo ID, SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD certificate (if applicable) and two copies of recent passport sized photographs.
(vi) Please also bring self-attested photocopies of all the certificates. The original certificates will be returned to you immediately after verification while the self-attested photocopies will be retained by the admission committee.
