Welcome to the Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) facility at IISER Mohali. This facility is located at the ground floor (room #1L2) of the Academic Block 2. The microscope at the facility (JEOL JEM-F200) is a field-emission TEM for multi-purpose operation. The machine features various recording modes including low-magnification TEM, high-resolution TEM, STEM-HAADF, selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and elemental analysis using EDS detector. It is fitted with an ultra-fast, high-precision “Pico stage drive” as well as a super-high-precision piezo drive mechanism which enables smooth movement of field-of-view over a wide spatial-scale range up to picometers.

Note: Samples submitted to this facility for recording TEM-related data are the property of the investigator. All data collected by the facility directly relevant to the samples are released to the principal investigator upon completion. The facility should be acknowledged in all publications.

Mode of Payment: The fee should be transferred to the following account: Account name: IISER Mohali Receipt A/C Account number: 4790101001912 IFSC: CNRB0004790 The transfer proof should be sent by email to IISER Mohali. Once the receipt of the fee is confirmed, the measurement will be carried out.
Sample preparation: We would prefer that the users provide us the samples loaded on a TEM grid. However, if help of the TEM facility is required for sample preparation, the charges will be extra. For academia samples, a TEM grid will cost 500 rupees. For using stains, the charge will be 1000 rupees. The charges will be double for Industry and other profit oriented labs. The user must provide the method for sample preparation. When we will try our best to follow the instructions, the facility will not be responsible for the outcome. Users are requested to discuss over email regarding sample preparation and collection of results.
