Abstract: This presentation will provide an overview of the applications of magnetic devices, especially magnonic and spintronic devices for energy-efficient, low-footprint magnetic storage and information processing. Tunability of microwave response using magnetically coupled arrays of nanomagnets, and wavelength conversion of propagating spin waves will be discussed. Element-specific, high-resolution, scanning transmission X-ray microscopy has been used to image the frequency response of the short-wavelength spin waves. Finally, the present scenario of spintronics devices in industrial products (magneto-resistive random-access memories) and future challenges will be discussed with an emphasis to machine learning.
