Abstract: Pathogens are the micro-organisms that can cause host diseases ranging from invertebrates to vertebrates. Host response is crucial in combating the infection and surviving the pathophysiology caused by the pathogenic infection. They overcome the host response by undergoing mutation or modulating the host system. At the same time, the host responds by enhancing the immune response and clearing the pathogen. This continuous tug of war leads to the co-evolution of the host and pathogens. My 2i-lab tries to understand virulence regulation during bacterial infection, host response against them, and pathogen-mediated immune modulation under various conditions. I will discuss some of the ongoing work in the lab and the multi-model approach we use to address the questions.
