Abstract: We know the microscopic nature of only 15% matter in the universe, whereas the nature of the remaining 85% of the matter- termed as Dark Matter- remains unknown. The talk will give an overview of the present state of the vibrant field of research trying to uncover its nature and properties, followed by two courses of research that our group has recently pursued. In one case, we investigated whether temperature measurements of the intergalactic medium can be a probe of very light black holes acting as dark matter. In the second, we tried to see what the recently discovered distant galaxies by the JWST can tell us about the dark matter's interactions with the standard model particles.
