CHAllenges and Innovations in Computational Astrophysics (CHAICA VI)
The 6th edition of CHAllenges In Computational Astrophysics (CHAICA) workshop was held at IISER Mohali during September 29 - October 2, 2025. This workshop was organised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Commission B1 (Computational Astrophysics). The workshop was organized in a hybrid mode. A total of 83 participants attended the meeting, with 42 joining in person. There were nine invited presentations and 36 contributed presentations.
The format of the workshop is to encourage discussion of ongoing research by early career researchers. About 50% of the presentations were by PhD students, 20% by post-docs and the remaining by faculty members. Speakers and participants were from many countries: India, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Germany, Canada, USA, Israel, Russia, etc. Participants included the president of Commission B1, Professor Michiko Fujii, as well as several members of the organising committee of the commission.
It was heartening to see a large number of BS-MS students attending lectures during the workshop and interacting with participants.
The inaugural session of the workshop was attended by the institute Director Professor Anil K Tripathi and the Head of the Department of Physical Sciences Professor Abhishek Chaudhury.
