About the Speaker: Prof. Vijay Sathe is a vertebrate paleontologist specialising on large mammals of Pleistocene age. He has worked extensively on fossil assemblages from across India, especially from Maharashtra (e.g. Manjra Valley). In addition to reporting new sites and describing associated fossil assemblages, he has also worked on bone histology of select specimens.
