About the Speaker: Prof. Kamal Kishore Agarwal is a distinguished geologist with more than four decades of experience in teaching and research. His expertise includes structural geology, tectonics, active tectonics, geological mapping, and plate tectonics, with extensive field-based studies across the Himalayan region and other geological terrains in India.

He has conducted research in regions such as the Kumaun and Garhwal Himalaya, Arunachal Himalaya, Ladakh, the Ganga Plain, Meghalaya, and the Vindhyan basin. Prof. Agarwal has published more than 110 research papers, contributing significantly to the understanding of Himalayan tectonics, neotectonics, morphotectonic evolution, and structural controls on geological processes. He has supervised numerous students and has made substantial contributions to both academic research and geological field studies over his long and distinguished career.
