Our recent article entitled "A competition between N–H⋯N–C, N–H⋯F–C and C–H⋯F–C hydrogen bonds: structural analyses by in situ cryo-crystallization and computational study" with authors Priyasha Harsha, Sagarika Dev and Angshuman Roy Choudhury has been published in CrystEngComm as a cover page (https://pubs.rsc.org/ce/article/28/39/5503/1364740/A-competition-between-N-H-N-C-N-H-F-C-and-C-H-F-C ), CrystEngComm (2026) 28 (39): 5503–5513.
Herein we have demonstrated the importance of weak intermolecular N–H⋯N–C, N–H⋯F–C and C–H⋯F–C hydrogen bonds in altering and controlling the melting points of isomeric difluoro anilines through in-situ cryo-crystallization technique. This unique technique was first demonstrated in India in 1962, later improved in early 1990s in Germany and currently practiced in few specialized laboratories in the world. This study involves both experimental and computational methods in establishing the scientific reasoning for the differences in the melting points of difluoroaniline isomers.
