The day culminated with the 18th Foundation Day Lecture, delivered by the Chief Guest, Professor L. S. Shashidhara, Director of the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. His lecture, titled From the Origin of Life to the Evolution of Self, captivated the audience. Mr. Sant Sanganeria, Managing Trustee of the Sanganeria Foundation for Health & Education, New Delhi, was the Guest of Honour. He is a pioneering figure in the fragrance and flavor industry.

Professor Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director of IISER Mohali, presented the institute's annual progress report. Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Registrar of the institute, reflected on the early days of IISER Mohali, offering a nostalgic glimpse into its remarkable journey.

In addition to the lecture, the institute’s quiz and literary clubs organized competitions such as quizzes, spelling bees, and crosswords, while the drama club performed a lively nukkad natak (street play). The art club engaged participants with interactive activities involving shapes and colors. Approximately 1,800 students and their teachers, participated in these activities, with the primary objective of igniting curiosity and offering a glimpse into the world of science

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, IISER Mohali organized the following events on October 2, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Auditorium (LH 7).
The IISER Mohali community has come together to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation.

Program Highlights:

Floral Tribute: A collective floral tribute will be offered at the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.
Honoring Housekeeping Workers: The institute will honor some of the outsourced housekeeping workers for their dedication and honesty in maintaining a clean and hygienic campus.
Screening of Swachhata Anthem: A video of the Swachhata Anthem will be screened to inspire and promote cleanliness.

The ceremony was followed by a special talk organized by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Prof.Bindu Puri, Head of Philosophy, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi had delivered a special lecture on "LIVING A GOOD LIFE IN THE GANDHIAN WAY: WITH A DEFERENCE/RESPECT FOR DIFFERENCE"

Hindi Pakhwada originates from the celebration of Hindi Diwas, which is observed every year on September 14th. On this day in 1953, Hindi was accepted as one of the official languages of India. The institute has been celebrating Hindi Pakhwada for many years, almost since its inception. This year, we also celebrated Hindi Pakhwada. During this period, the institute organized five different Hindi competitions for staff members, in which officers and staff from various departments and sections participated

हिंदी पखवाड़ा की शुरुआत हिंदी दिवस के उत्सव से हुई है, जो हर साल 14 सितंबर को मनाया जाता है। 1953 में इसी दिन हिंदी को भारत की आधिकारिक भाषाओं में से एक के रूप में स्वीकार किया गया था। संस्थान कई सालों से हिंदी पखवाड़ा मनाता आ रहा है, लगभग अपनी स्थापना के समय से। इस साल भी हमने हिंदी पखवाड़ा मनाया। इस दौरान संस्थान ने कर्मचारियों के लिए पांच अलग-अलग हिंदी प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की, जिसमें विभिन्न विभागों और अनुभागों के अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने भाग लिया।

Award for Excellence in Teaching for the year 2024 - Dr. Debdulal Saha .

Teacher's Day was celebrated at IISER Mohali on 5th September 2024 by felicitating the faculty members of IISER Mohali for their contribution to teaching by conferring the Award for Excellence in Teaching. 

Dr. Debdulal Saha, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, has been honored with the Award for Excellence in Teaching for the year 2024 .

The award was presented by Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, IISER Mohali.

National Space Day was celebrated at IISER Mohali on August 23, 2024. More than 500 school students and their teachers attended the event. The event was coordinated with the help of WiPMA (Women's in Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy), a female initiative at IISER Mohali to promote these areas of science.

The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at IISER Mohali Campus on 15th August 2024. National Flag was hoisted by Prof Anil K Tripathi, Director IISER Mohali in the presence of faculty members and other staff members.

Thirteenth Convocation at IISER Mohali

The 13th convocation at IISER Mohali was held on june 19th, 2024. The Chief Guest for 13th convocation was Prof. Ashutosh Sharma  (President, Indian National Science Academy and Former Secretary  Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India) presided by (Dr.) J.S. Yadav Chairman, BoG IISER Mohali  Director (Research) Indrashil University, Gujrat

International Yoga Day was celebrated at IISER Mohali on 21 June 2024. IISER Mohali organised Pre Yoga Day events like poster making competition and Run for Yoga which is a non competitive event.
